TCP, to my knowledge, has never said they were a not-for-profit online magazine.

Many bloggers seek donations to keep their blogs going, although they are not a not-for-profit either, so that they are able to devote more time cultivating what they are called to do.

As with any donation, if a 501(c)3 is an issue, then that should always be looked into.
