Word World

There is a wonderful program that my children watch on PBS called Word World. In this beautifully animated place, anything you want could become manifest when you properly put the letters together and build a word. Whatever you want, you are reminded to "Let's build a word! Let's build it now!"
As I was watching this with my children last week, it reminded me how sometimes television is coming close to how God wants us to do things. In order for us to see what we want come to life, we need to find the right Word and put it into practice.
What do I mean put it into practice? Joshua 1:8 tells us that we are to meditate (which means to think upon, mutter, speak) on the Word day and night. As we continue to put the Word into practice through various forms of meditation, then we will find good success. It's interesting to me that it doesn't say God will bring you good success. It's you who does the finding. Think of it as a hidden treasure and you have been given the golden map to find it. The golden map is the meditation of the Word of God.
There are some who believe that whatever will be will be. It's up to God. But that is one of the most dangerous lies we can buy into. It's God's will that ALL come to the saving knowledge of Jesus and accept the free gift. YET, there are many who will not. Is it because God's will counts for nothing? No! He's already provided. But He will NOT overide your free will. His overall plan for mankind will come to past because He can always find someone who will do what is needed. But as for your individual life, that's up to you.
God created you to be a free moral agent. Every choice you make didn't just happen. It began with a thought. That thought has it's origins in the good things of God or, well, not. This is why in Joshua we are told to meditate day and night on the Word. We are to continually feed our thought life with the goodness, mercy, wonder, majesty, and truth of what God says is the best way for us to function in this world. As we do, our belief system begins to reflect the kingdom of God. And as that changes, we begin to see the God kind of life (zoe) manifesting not only in our lives, but as we pray, in the life of others. We begin to think like God thinks because we have choosen His Word above the voices of the world.
God, in His infinite mercy and goodness, has already done all He's going to do. He's given you His best seed, Jesus. He's preordained the good life for you before the foundation of the world. He's even given you an empowerment from the inside out, the Holy Spirit. He's created you to be like Him, which means to function like Him. One of the ways He functions is loose the Word first.
So whatever is happening in your life right now, God has a Word for you. He has not left you helpless. You have the best of heaven in your corner, backing you up. All you have to do is go hunting and find the right Word for your circumstance. Believe what it says and do what God tells you to do. He promised that as you trust in Him with all your heart, soul, and strength He shall direct your path. Employ patience, for the promise shall come to pass for you. Rejoice as though you already have it because it's on it's way. The answer is sent as soon as you asked; it's only a matter of time. God's Word will not return to Him void.
That is His perfect will.
So go ahead, and build your world on the Word.
