Talk Your Way Out of It
Can you really talk your way out of your current dilemma?
Well, yes and no, but mostly yes.
Continuing on from yesterday's article entitled "Word World", you might not be able to completely stop the harvest of the seeds you have sown by the words of your mouth, but there is a strategy that can either reverse the effects or at least turn a bad situation into something positive. Either way, that's good news!
We are taught many things in "higher level educations", but what isn't taught is to train the number one thing that gets you good results or into hot water every time: your mouth. The whole time, one of the main solutions to life's quandaries is right under your nose. Literally.
Unfortunately, many people are turned off to this simple solution to watch what they say because they "tried it before and it didn't work." Well, honey, if it took you 10 years to get into massive debt, did you really think it would take only 7 days to get you out? I know we've all heard of the miracles, the miracle debt cancellations (I've got them and believe in them myself!), but for most of us, there is a process to go through that might be a bit more painful -- called consistency -- so that we never get into that situation again. There might even be a part of your belief system built over the years that might have to be dismantled and rebuilt from scratch. That typically doesn't happen overnight either. Old habits die hard. Another reason you might be turned off to the subject could come from the evidence of abuses and weird New Age ways that people have distorted a God ordained method of operating. Fear not what others are doing. You do what God does, which is to speak His Word only.
Why all this emphasis on words?
We will speak words that either create or destroy. We can't help it. It's how we were created to function. We will eat the fruit of whatever it is we are speaking (Proverbs 18:21). And since practically everything is based on words, isn't this an area you should develop? Isn't this an area you should purposefully discipline yourself in?
Think about it. You bought/leased your car based on words. Same with the place you are currently living at, whether it be a home or an apartment. How did you get your job? You submitted a resume and filled out an application. You received your interview based on the words on paper (and if you are anything like me, you asked God for favor -- of course again using words -- to get the interview and the job!). You used words during the interview to sway the decision on your behalf. Knowledge is power. But the right words at the right time is like a kiss on the lips (Proverbs 24:26). So essentially, you can talk your way out of your mess, if only you knew what words to say.
What if you don't know what words to use?
You want to know the secret? The real secret? The wisdom key that will tell you the words you need to start speaking. Psst... get a little closer...it's free...it's called...the Bible.
Yes! All you need is already laid out for you in black and white. All you have to do is go and look for it. Okay, you might have to go and literally dust it off the shelf, but really, go and look inside!
Don't know where to start? Start in Proverbs. It's chalked full of goodies in every chapter about ways to conduct your life so that it can be whole, healthy, and wealthy. After reading it a few times, you will begin to see where you have been going right...and wrong. One of the main themes is on what to say and what not to say. It's coined the Book of Wisdom for a reason.
Begin to talk your way out of your mess. Find the promise for your situation and create what you want by creating what God wants for you.
God never does anything without saying it first. In Genesis 1 He spoke: "Light be!" And light was. The universe is still expanding at the rate of the speed of light. God has made you in His image and likeness, which means He wants you to imitate His methods of operation. It's time to mimic the Father. Begin to speak the Word only today and live the good life He's prearranged for you to have.
