A True Friend

Taken from the day's teaching in the current book.
For the most benefit, read the 17th chapter of Proverbs...

Today's power verse comes from 17: A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

A true friend is there for you through the good and the bad. Through think and thin. You might not be able to be in each other's lives daily, but when one is in need, a friend is there!

We are told that two are better than one. When Jesus sent out the disciples, it was always by two. There is something to knowing that someone has your back, whether that is in the war in prayer or a shoulder to cry on. There's comfort in having a good friend.

It's not easy to find a good friend. One of the best friendships we see is David and Jonathan. They had such a strong friendship that we are still talking about it, thousands of years later.

This is probably why so many marriages don't work out. The marriages that last are the ones that have the spouses as great friends. When you have that kind of connection in friendship, it can withstand any storm.

In order to have a great friend, you need to be one first. Again, we have the spiritual law of sowing and reaping. As you sow friendship, you will reap friendship.

The best friend you can ever have is Jesus. He will never let you down. He will always be truthful. He will always have your best interest in mind. He will always be there with you, whenever you need Him. That's a bond that can never be broken, no matter what.
