You Can Change The World Today

To get the most out of today's reading, read chapter 6 of Proverbs... ****
Today’s power verse comes from verse nine: How long will thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

When I was reading this verse, although the subject is laziness, this can be applied to the state of the body of Christ.

For to long the body of Christ has laid dormant to the world. We’ve allowed prayers to be taken out of school and abortion to be legalized. We’ve allowed youths to take their own lives and the lives of others through gang violence. We’ve allowed the poor to go without food and shelter. Brothers and sisters, this should not be!

How are we responsible for all of this? The answer is simple: we have become lazy in our relationship with God.

We pray, but mostly for our own interest. God in His mercy grants our petitions because He loves us. But are we really fulfilling the law of loving our neighbor as we do ourselves when we won’t even take five minutes a day to pray for him?

How quickly would your neighborhood turn around, if only you would pick up the mantle of prayer? How many gang members would turn their lives over to Jesus if only people would seek the face of God? How many of the poor could rise up from their pit of poverty if only the people of God would do what God has asked of them?

Arise from your sleep! The world is awaiting the manifestations of the children of God! You have been given the power and authority of Christ! Use it and change the world today.
