Spread the Wealth

Today’s power verse comes out of verse 11: A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

The Contemporary English Bible translates this as: The right word at the right time is like precious gold set in silver.

As you know by now, one of the main themes of Proverbs is what is coming out of our mouths. With our words we can create or destroy. Our words are powerful. We are created to function like God. He always says what He means and means what He says.

When we say the right thing at the right time, it’s like bringing wealth into that person’s life. We are creating something in them that they needed. It might be encouragement, edification, or sometimes even correction! But when it’s done at the right time, it brings about a change for the better.

So many times we want to give people things so that they know how much we care about them. How much more valuable are your right words at the right time. It’s something that can never be tarnished and something that will never go out of fashion.

Concentrate on your mouth then spread the wealth around.

For a limited time, a few of the devotionals will be posted for your spiritual enrichment in this blog. These are taken from the one year devotional  One Minute Guide to Health, Wealth, and Happiness: Wisdom from the book of Proverbs © 2007, Raquel Soto All rights reserved

How to read: Chapter of the day correspondences to the day of the month (October 25th read the 25th Chapter of Proverbs). There is one power verse in that chapter for the day. The power verse of the day is then turned into the day's guide.
