Bringing Life to Your Situation

Today’s power verse comes from verse four: He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

All from my Lexicon research:

Heart is the Hebrew word leb meaning inner man, mind, will, heart, understanding. Retain here is the Hebrew word tamak meaning to grasp, hold, support, attain, lay hold of, hold fast to. Keep here is the Hebrew word shamar meaning to guard, observe, protect, heed. Live here is the Hebrew word chayah (khä·yä'). It’s a verb. It’s something that is active; it’s signifies action. It means: to live; have life; remain alive; sustain life; live prosperously; live for ever; be quickened; be alive; be restored to life or health; to revive, be quickened from sickness, or discouragement, or faintness, or death.

In expansion, this reads: He taught me also, and said unto me, Let your inner man (your mind, your will) grasp, hold, support, attain and hold fast to my words: guard, observe, protect, and heed my commandments and have life (remain alive; sustain life; live prosperously; live for ever; be quickened; be made alive; be restored to life or health; be quickened from sickness, discouragement, faintness or death).

God supplies all that we need to have an abundant life. All we need to do is go hunting in the Wisdom of God and then implement what we find. Then, we will see success in any arena of life.

For a limited time, a few of the devotionals will be posted for your spiritual enrichment in this blog. These are taken from the upcoming one year devotional to be released October, 2007 One Minute Guide to Health, Wealth, and Happiness: Wisdom from the book of Proverbs © 2007, Raquel Soto All rights reserved

How to read: Chapter of the day correspondences to the day of the month (October 4th read the 4th Chapter of Proverbs). There is one power verse in that chapter for the day. The power verse of the day is then turned into the day's guide.
